Colour

• Rich gold. 

Nose 

• Peat-infused marmalade; candied citrus fruit; slight BBQ sauce; salty ribs.

 Palate

• Soft and supple fruit followed by spice, peat, then fiery pepper.

Finish

• The pepper gives way to the peat, then to the fruit.

Because Auchentoshan distills away all the impurities in the liquid, strong notes of fruit and citrus come through. It also makes the spirit more prone to the epic woodiness that comes from the casks in maturation. No other Scottish distillery insists on triple distilling every drop. As a result of its production methods, Auchentoshan’s product is sometimes called “the breakfast whisky” due to its sweet and delicate flavor.
