We offer a Bartending 101 class on mixology basics. It is for beginners and aspiring bartenders who want hands-on bar experience.

The one day mixology class lasts two hours and includes the preparation of three drinks per participant. Guests can choose to make either cocktails (with alcohol) or mocktails (non-alcoholic), or a combination of the two. The drink menu changes monthly.

Each of the three drinks is mixed during the session with the instructor’s help. You have time to learn techniques, follow recipes, and enjoy what you make.

With our mixology 101 class, you’ll learn:

  1. How to build a drink that engages the senses:

Understand how to balance flavor, aroma, texture, temperature, and presentation to create drinks that taste great and feel intentional. You’ll explore how sweetness, acidity, bitterness, and dilution work together. You’ll also see how garnishes, glassware, and final touches improve the whole experience.

  1. How to use a wide range of tools and equipment correctly:

Gain hands-on practice with essential bar tools such as shakers, strainers, jiggers, bar spoons, muddlers, blenders, and more. You’ll learn when to shake or stir, how to measure well, and how to use ice right. You’ll also learn how to make high-quality cocktails and mocktails with a pro technique with this bartending crash course.

  1. How to prepare, use, and store drink ingredients the right way:

Learn how to make and work with key ingredients such as syrups, fresh juices, infusions, bitters, and garnishes. We’ll cover ingredient prep, freshness standards, and labeling. We’ll also cover safe storage and ways to keep flavor and quality. This helps every drink taste its best, from the first pour to the last.

  1. How to choose the right drinks for any occasion:

Develop the skills to plan a drink menu that fits the event—matching the theme, season, and food being served. You’ll learn how to pair drinks with different cuisines, create options for different preferences, and build a well-rounded selection that includes both cocktails and mocktails for a complete guest experience.

  1. The history and evolution of cocktails and mocktails:

Explore where craft cocktails began and how people created classic cocktails. See how trends, cultures, and ingredients shape what we drink today. You’ll discover the stories behind iconic cocktail recipes, understand the role of spirits and non-alcoholic alternatives through different eras, and learn how modern mocktails have evolved into creative, balanced drinks with the same care and complexity as cocktails.

  1. Tips and techniques to enhance your home bar:

In this bartending masterclass learn how to set up a practical and stylish home bar, even with limited space or budget. We’ll cover key tools and glassware. We’ll explain how to choose versatile spirits and mixers. We’ll show how to stock key ingredients for many drinks.

By the end of the one day bartending class, you’ll have the confidence to make a range of popular cocktails, understand core mixology principles, and apply professional best practices for setup, service, and presentation.
