Absolutely. Purchasing your liquor allows you to save money on your mobile bar hire. You can return any product purchased for a full refund, or keep it to enjoy for a future date.
For returns to the LCBO, you may return any product that is in saleable condition (bottled sealed and label intact) to any LCBO store. Please return with the original receipt within thirty (30) days of purchase. You must produce the permit and a copy of the sales receipt for alcohol bought at a store for a permit event.Â
For beer store returns, you receive cash refunds only for Special Occasion Permit (SOP returns). The product should be sealed and still in its case (if applicable).
It’s impossible to predict the exact proportions of distilled alcohol, wine, and beer your guests will consume at your event. The great news is that if you purchase your own liquor, you don’t have to worry about this when developing your event liquor budget. You can return any unused drinks in salable condition for a full refund in Toronto or the rest of Ontario. Since you can return unused liquor, it becomes easy to establish a conservative liquor budget based on the maximum guests will consume.
You can assume each guest will consume one standard distilled alcohol drink (43 ml of 1.5oz) per hour per guest. Why base your budget on distilled alcohol you ask? Distilled alcohol is more expensive than a standard drink of beer (341 ml or 12 oz) or wine (142 ml or 5oz ). This makes your liquor budget conservative. To help develop an initial liquor budget, you can use our event alcohol calculator.
We help you take out the guesswork! How much liquor to order? How much beer, wine, or distilled alcohol do you need? We create a detailed liquor order estimate for your planned beverage menu. We base this on your theme, preferences, budget, and pairings with food.Â
You will be provided with recommended bottles to execute your beverage menu. We base this on your requirements, and instructions on how to place your liquor order.
We provide guidance on the type of permit you require for events in Toronto or other cities in Ontario. We also help secure your liquor permit (if required).Â
You don’t require a liquor permit for a non-public event in a non-public place with no liquor sales. But you require a liquor permit any time alcohol is offered for sale.Â
You need a permit when serving alcohol anywhere other than in a licensed establishment or a non-public place.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) defines a non-public event and a non-public place as:
A non-public event is where only invited guests will attend. These events cannot be advertised. There can be no intent to gain or profit from the sale of alcohol at the event.
A non-public place is an indoor area not usually accessible to the public, and not accessible to the public during the event (e.g. a residence, boardroom or office).
