Gin And Tonic Kit Gifts

Gin and Tonic Gift Set Kit Delivery

In the year 1857 the British took over the governance of India. The early immigrants from Britain struggled with malaria from the tropical climate. They used bitter tasting quinine, extracted from cinchona bark, to fight off malaria. By dissolving the quinine into sugar and water it was made into a tonic. The favorite spirit of the British is Gin, and once this was added they were left with a tasty drink that prevented illness. We pay homage to this classic from the 1800s with our Gin and Tonic Gift Set!

Looking for gift ideas? We have curated a Gin and Tonic kit that comes with all the ingredients and accoutrements necessary to create a perfect gift for those gin and tonic lovers.

A Gin and Tonic is a classic highball cocktail. That one cocktail that is humble, easy to make, and yet refreshing. With just a few great quality ingredients, you can recreate the bar experience right at home.

What Can I Include In The Gin and Tonic Kit?

Liquor For Your Gin Tonic Gift Set

Gin has a long and rich history, having been created first as a medicine in the Netherlands back in the 17th century. Gin is derived from the French word ‘genievre’ or juniper, and this clear spirit thrives on the dominance of a complex combination of juniper, flowers, and fruit.

Gin and tonic as a drink really took off in the 18th century when the British added tonic water to gin, believing that the quinine in tonic water would ward off malaria. These days, though, tonic water doesn’t contain a high amount of quinine. In fact, by law, tonic water must contain less than one-tenth of a gram of quinine per litre.

We believe knowing the background of your drink will  only elevate your drinking experience. At 180 Drinks, we like to make sure that your giftee also knows these tidbits. We add detailed gin tasting notes with your G&T kit.

This makes your gift more thoughtful and one that the recipient will cherish.

Gin Tonic Gift Set With Fruits And Vegetables

We complement your G&T gifts with our organic, fresh fruits and vegetables.

At 180 Drinks, we source only organic fruits and vegetables where possible. This is because organic produce has fewer pesticide residue compared to conventionally grown or harvested fruits and vegetables.

G&T Gift: Herbs And Spices

Gin and Tonic is a drink that is refreshingly simple. You can keep it that way, but also add a different flavour or aroma with some herbs.

A G&T with fresh basil, for instance. Or a sprig of rosemary or mint. A classic recipe is a simple blend of gin, lemon juice, tonic water, and mint.

At 180 Drinks, we add herbs and spices to your Gin and Tonic cocktail gift set. This is an option that many of our customers love as the recipients gets a carefully curated gift basket.

Citrus Fruits

At 180 Drinks, we add in fresh citrus fruits to your gin and tonic gift set.

Lime is most used in a Gin and Tonic. A lime wedge or wheel is almost always added in a G&T, and is a very easy way to add a hint of citrus to your drink.

You can also make an orange Gin and Tonic. For this, you just need freshly squeezed orange juice.

We add seasonal citrus fruits to make it a wholesome package for your giftee.

Sweeteners For The Gin And Tonic Lover

Tonic syrup is often used in the G&T mixed with soda water. And since the carbonation and tonic flavor come from separate ingredients, it’s possible to dial up (or dial back) the intensity of the syrup however you like.

We include syrups where applicable to make your drink gift that extra bit sweeter.

Bitters

A Gin and Tonic is a simple cocktail. But you can experiment with additional dimensions. And one of the best ways to do that is by adding bitters.

Bitters improve and align flavours, often accentuating the existing flavors in the drink and adding their own flavours.

Just as you can experiment with adding orange juice to your traditional Gin and Tonic cocktail, you can also add orange bitters or Angostura bitters for a different drinking experience.

Garnishes For Gin and Tonic Lovers

Most often, the Gin and Tonic is served with a slice of lime or lemon. But that doesn’t mean a gin and tonic lover has to restrict yourself to the classic citrus and G&T combo. At 180 Drinks, we often use a wide variety of garnishes to create a wholesome drink, including:

  • Juniper berries
  • Star anise
  • Lavender
  • Rosemary
  • Thyme

Check out the garnishes included on the product description.

Ice

No cocktail likes to be rushed. Yet, this is precisely what happens if you add melting ice cubes.

The Gin and Tonic needs lots of ice. But for the true flavors of the drink to seep through, this ice needs to melt slowly. Dilution will just result in a very watery drink.

We include optional large ice cube trays that create slow melting ice, keeping your drink at the right temperature.

Glassware

Gin and Tonic lends itself well to the classic high-ball glass. Something like that Tom Collins glass would be great for a G&T. But you can also check for other glasses such as a balloon glass. This is also known as the copa glass.

For the G&T to be savored as it should be, we suggest glassware with a long stem and a large, rounded shape. What this does is that the narrowing at the top allows for all the aromas of the gin to seep through, allowing you to get all the notes of that lovely juniper and garnish.

Check the product description for elegant cocktail glasses that match perfectly with your drink gift. We curate your Gin & Tonic set set for that right pour!

Recipe Cards

At 180 Drinks, we want to make the process of gifting hassle-free and easy. It shouldn’t be a hassle trying to find the right recipe. It’s why we like to include some of our best recipes and the right tasting notes with our drink gifts.
