Bitters For Your Cocktail Delivery Box

Bitters are traditionally an alcoholic preparation flavored with botanical matter so that the end result is characterized by a bitter, sour, or bittersweet flavour.

Think of bitters as a bartender’s spice rack. In addition to their own flavours, they reveal and bind unexpected flavours from other ingredients in a cocktail. Bitters can be an ingredient in a drink, or added directly to the top of a drink to enhance aromas and visual presentation such as is the case with a sour cocktail.

Mixers are the non-alcoholic ingredients in cocktails that help to change, enhance, or add new flavours and textures to a drink. For example soda adds a bubby mouthfeel by tickling the tongue.

For example the tonic water we use called Fever Tree uses naturally sourced ingredients from around the world and contains no artificial flavourings or sweeteners.

Drinks that use herbs and spices have intense flavours and aromas. Whether it’s rosemary, basil, mint, or cinnamon, bringing herbs and spices into your bar opens up a new realm of flavour possibilities.

Getting these flavours into your drinks is simple. Quite often, fresh herbs and spices can simply be muddled into the drink. You’ll be surprised at how well the herbs and spices we include in your cocktail box pair with other flavours to create fascinating drinks. 

With our monthly drink subscription boxes we include herbs and spices to impart maximum flavor and echo the ingredients of your drink both aromatically and visually.

Sweeteners For Your Cocktail Subscription Box

Cocktails can be sweetened by an alcohol ingredient (typically a liqueur or vermouth) or a syrup of some type. 

Most common sweetening syrup is a simple syrup, which is one part water to one part sugar. This is the most neutral tasting sweetener.

Other types of sweetening syrups that are commonly used and add depth of flavour include: maple syrup, agave syrup, cane sugar syrup, demerara syrup, honey syrup, or flavoured simple syrups such as lavender.

For our cocktail subscription boxes, we use syrups that are free from artificial flavors, colours, and preservatives.

As a cocktail is crafted, our senses begin to take in all of the sights, smells, sounds, and emotion of the process. The final step of the drink making is to garnish it. 

A garnish is defined as a decoration, an embellishment, an accent. A garnish can tie together elements of a cocktail, complement them, or contrast with them. Often a garnish gives us a visual cue about what flavours are in the drink. 

Our monthly cocktail subscription boxes feature garnishes such as fruits, olives, herbs, citrus, and flowers.

Where do you deliver your cocktail club subscription boxes in Canada?

We deliver our cocktail club subscription boxes all across Ontario. Whether you are from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) or Ottawa, we got you covered! At this time we don’t deliver to other provinces. 

Is delivery in Ontario, Canada included with the cost of the cocktail subscription service?

Yes, our cocktail subscription service price includes delivery in Ontario, Canada. 

Is alcohol included with my cocktail box subscription?

Yes, alcohol is included with your cocktail subscription box! We curate each and every ingredient that goes into your cocktail box, and this includes the liquor selections.

How many cocktails come with each cocktail box?

Depending on which options you select for your cocktail subscription, we offer three or six drink options. 

What bar equipment is needed to make the drinks for my cocktail subscription?

Great quality bar equipment is a prerequisite for great quality cocktails. 

Need equipment? The necessary pro bar equipment above is available as an option for purchase with your first shipment when you select your subscription above. 

Have equipment already? We recommend the following minimum tools:

  • 1oz and 2oz Japanese style jigger with interior markings to accurately measure incremental amounts of 1⁄4, 1⁄2, 3⁄4, 1 1⁄2 oz, and 2oz.
  • 24 oz Yarai style mixing glass with julep strainer.
  • Japanese style bar spoon with 5ml (1 teaspoon) bowl size. 
  • 18 oz and 28 oz Shakers with hawthorne and fine mesh strainer. 
  • Large cocktail ice cube tray with 1.25” cube size.
  • Y-peeler. 
  • Citrus zester with channel knife.
  • Muddler.
  • Bar knife.
  • Handheld citrus press. 

How long will the ingredients in my cocktail kit last?

We love fresh ingredients! We aim to include fresh ingredients in our cocktail kit subscription recipes where possible. If refrigerated on arrival, the ingredients should remain usable for up to 10 days after you receive your cocktail box.

When does my cocktail subscription ship and arrive?

You select a preferred delivery date of your first cocktail box delivery at checkout. Delivery by Canada post is typically 1 to 4 business days in Ontario depending on your delivery location. After your box ships you will receive a tracking number. If the order is placed before 12pm our boxes ship the next business day. 

After your first delivery, your subscription will ship between the 15th and 20th each month. Join our cocktail mail order club today!

Can you send a cocktail box for delivery on a specific date?

Absolutely! When you order from us, you can select a preferred cocktail box delivery date. We will then schedule your kit for the delivery date desired. 

How often am I billed for my cocktail of the month subscription?

You will be billed for your cocktail box subscription  on the day you sign up. For example, if you buy a monthly subscription on the 15th January,  then on the 15th February their subscription will renew, and again on then 15th March, and so on.

Prepaid cocktail subscription gifts are paid for once and are not recurring.

Do you offer just a one-time cocktail box delivery?

If you want a one-time cocktail box delivery, visit our cocktail kits section. In this section also you can also reorder past boxes to re-experience drinks that you fell in love with from your cocktail box subscription.

If I need to cancel my cocktail of the month club subscription, how do I do this?

If you ever need to cancel we made it easy. You can cancel your cocktail of the month club subscription anytime from your customer account and there will be no further auto-renewals. Please note that cancellation needs to occur before the 15th of the current month to apply to the delivery the following month between the 15th and 20th. 

How do I upgrade from a monthly to a billed annually cocktail subscription?

Upgrading to an annual cocktail subscription is a great way to save some money! Simply login to your account and change your subscription type to an annual subscription.
